Understand the various types of transducers and microphones available, focusing essentially on the most used in the job market;

Syllabus:

Transducers: Operation - electroacoustic transducers; associated quantities: voltage and current power / speed density and pressure; diaphragm; transducers mobile / piezoelectric and electrostatic coil. Microphones: historical facts; element type, characteristics of dynamic and condenser, phantom power; microphone types (Free field - end fire and side fire, PZM, shotgun, parabolic and multipolar, directionality (microphones pressure and pressure gradient), other features - impedance, sensitivity, background noise, maximum level, signal / noise ratio , frequency response, dynamic range and transient response; polar Diagram - omnidirectional, directional and figure of eight, wireless microphones. Practice capturing acoustic and electro-acoustic: Practical audio capture in soils of acoustic instruments and electric operation. Practical audio capture STEREO: Concepts grooming techniques stereo: spaced (AB and DECATREE), quasi-coincident (ORTF and NOS) and coincidesntes (MS, XY and Blumlein); SRA - Stereo Recording Angle.

Demonstration of the Articulation of the Programme Contents with the Objectives of the C.U.

Since the objective of this C.U. is the acquisition of knowledge and skills so that the student can intervene in a variety of artistic and musical contexts, the syllabus indicated is selected in order to meet the scope of the issues involved.

Teaching and Evaluation Methods:

The teaching methodology is based on systematic and organized presentation of information through questioning, critical analysis and research suggested by the teacher, complemented with its study and discussion applied to the C.U. thematic issues, under the guidance and supervision of the teacher in order to ensure knowledge and skills acquisition process, as specified in the C.U. objectives - The evaluation process is based on observation of the quality of participation in the activities developed during the course, including presentations, assignments and other tests, verifying the level of the acquired knowledge and skills as specified in the C.U. objectives

Demonstration of the Articulation of the Teaching Methodologies with the Learning Objectives of the C.U.:

The coherence between the teaching methodologies with the learning objectives is assessed and demonstrated by the very nature of the performance and progress of students in classes, presentations, papers and exams.
