Learning Outcomes (knowledge, aptitudes and skills to be developed by the students)

Operating with the major and melodic minor scalemodes. Operate withquatriadsand inversionsof theseresulting modes. Recognize and remember melodic / rhythmic-melodic passages of increasing and comparable to the degree of difficulty present in the repertoire of the North American Songbook Jazz extension. Recognize simple chord progressions that integrate modes of given scales. Increase the speed of reaction in the act of identifying 'harmonic colors' andquatriadicqualities.

Syllabus:

Major, Minor 7th, dominant, half diminished, Major n. 5, Minor Major, Dominant with n. 4 (instead of 5th grade) quatriads, their relation with the given modes; Their inversions. Composite intervals. Association of resolutions and melodic voice leading to simple chord sequences. Diatonic dictations in 2 voices (medium difficulty). Atonal dictations in 2 voices (simple difficulty).

Demonstration of the Articulation of the Programme Contents with the Objectives of the C.U.

Since the objective of this C.U. is the acquisition of knowledge and skills so that the student can intervene in a variety of artistic and musical contexts, the syllabus indicated is selected in order to meet the scope of the issues involved.

Teaching and Evaluation Methods:

The teaching methodology is based on systematic and organized presentation of information through questioning, critical analysis and research suggested by the teacher, complemented with its study and discussion applied to the exercises and activities in class, and with guidance and supervision of the knowledge and skills acquisition process, as specified in the C.U. objectives - The evaluation process is based on observation of the quality of participation in the activities developed during the course, including assignments and other tests, verifying the level of the acquired knowledge and skills as specified in the C.U. objectives

Demonstration of the Articulation of the Teaching Methodologies with the Learning Objectives of the C.U.:

The coherence between the teaching methodologies with the learning objectives is assessed and demonstrated by the very nature of the performance and progress of students in classes, presentations, papers and exams.
