Masterclass de Música de Conjunto com Eric Ineke

Nick Smart is one of the worlds leading experts on Wheeler’s music having been close to him personally and a member of his big band. As head of jazz at the Royal Academy of Music in London, Nick looks after the archive of Wheeler’s manuscripts and is in the middle of co-writing his official biography. This masterclass will focus on playing through some of Wheeler’s classic compositions, as well as some lesser known scores, and via analysis we will explore various approaches to improvisation and Kenny's unique harmonic language. Vocalists are welcome and we will use some of the amazing lyrics to these tunes by Norma Winstone. Various aspects of Kenny Wheeler’s history and his artistic development will be discussed along the way.
